The VA200 is a sophisticated, real-time processor that can significantly improve video imagery and minimize a number of traditional video image deficiencies. The unit will provide video frame comparison and selectable averaging of 2, 4, 8, and 16 frames at real time scan rates. A primary application is to remove the random pixel noise, i.e., scintillation and photon noise from very low camera video signals. Low video signal outputs will occur at low light night conditions with an image intensified or near IR camera. In essence, the VA200 will "clean up" and improve such imagery.
The VA200 is also useful under other conditions, i.e., day abnormalities. The unit will minimize vertical heat simmer effect in desert applications that often occur with telephoto lenses/cameras. The VA200 can also be used to minimize image blurring from vibration of a lens/camera package.
Various input video configurations are accepted by the unit including NTSC (525 line, 60Hz) or PAL (625 line, 50Hz) video standards, composite or Y/C. The VA200 automatically detects what type of video input is being applied to and adjusts to same.
Selectable control of the frames to be averaged from 2 to 16 frames is accomplished via a thumb index switch. The unit also has a run/freeze frame switch and on/off control with 110/220V AC input.
The VA200 is configured in a self-contained, tan color desktop enclosure that measures 230mm wide X 58mm high (includes 14mm pads) X 190mm deep (plus 20mm for 2 BNC back connectors).
